Imphal, July 24 2023:
A function for dedication of the song titled "Ngamnaba Lan-phamse" to the 'martyrs' who sacrificed their lives for the motherland during the ethnic violence was held at Kongpal Social Development Organisation indoor hall at Kongpal Khaidem Leikai, on Monday.
The function witnessed people of the locality and families of those who have lost their lives offering floral tributes to photos of the 'martyrs' .
Speaking as the chief guest, cultural activist Ningthouja Lancha alleged conspiracy by the government of India along with the Kuki militants to suppress the people of Manipur and exhorted the public not to be demoralised but to carry forward the movement until the victory flag is hoisted.
He further informed that the Meitei people had never perceived that the Kukis, who have been living peacefully along with many other communities in the state, would conspire with the government of India and consider Meiteis as their enemy.
We cannot remain satisfied with the assurance of the government of India to safeguard the integrity of Manipur as the territorial integrity of Manipur would be meaningless in the absence of the Meitei community or when the Meitei community is wiped out from the surface of Manipur.
Ningthouja Lancha also condemned the attitude of the national media trying to justify the statement of PM Narendra Modi over the viral video of May 4 despite one of the victims confessing she was not raped.
If such biased reporting continues, the people of the state should boycott the national media in Manipur.
"Ngamnaba Lanpham" is scripted by OC Meira, music composed by Nanao Sagolmang and sung by P Ra-jendro Meitei and Th Loijingkhoibi.
Kabita Elangbam is the producer.
Presided over by All Manipur Nupi Marup vice president Chanaleimbi, the function was also attended by KK Wahengbam and Kongpal Kongkham Leikai Meira Paibi president Lai-renlakpam Tombi Devi as guests of hounour.
