Thoubal, July 24 2023:
A public meeting organised by Meetei Community Joint Coordinating Committee (MCJCC), formed by 18 clubs and Meira Paibi groups of Waithou, Ki yam, Kiyam Siphai, Haokha and Thoubal Khunou, and Women Wing was held at Babu Bazar here on Sunday.
According to Committee president Nongthombam Biren and secretary Raju, the meeting unanimously resolved to take up steps to wake up the 40 MLAs who have been remaining mute since the outbreak of the conflict and to teach them a lesson that the Current issue is much more important than their positions.
The Committee further informed that as well-armed Kuki militants have been continuously attacking Meitei villages in peripheral areas and foothills, the conflict can only be stopped through withdrawal of the SoO agreement with Kuki militants or confining cadres of SoO groups at their designated camps.
