Imphal, July 24 2023:
Pointing out that curfew is relaxed for some hours in various districts, United Clubs' Organisation Ward No.9 Keishamthong A/C has cautioned of declaring public curfew if government continues to impose total curfew in Keishampat junction to Ningthemkoi stretch of the Tiddim Road.
In a release, the organisation questioned the rationale for not relaxing curfew in the said areas as has been the norm for other locations.
If there is tension in the area, why can't the government effectively control the same in such a limited zone, he said while asking how the government will control the ethnic violence if it could not handle the situation in such small areas.
It stated that shop owners, women vendors and passenger service providers are facing tremendous inconveniences due to the total curfew imposed in the area and further cautioned of declaring public curfew if the government does not withdraw the total curfew imposed in the area.
