Monetary and material aid extension continues

Manipur Chemists and Druggists Association (MCDA) have extended monetary assistance to Meitei pharmacy owners of Moreh, Churachandpur, Torbung and Kangvai whose shops were gutted in the turmoil.
Aside from this monetary aid, the MCDA has assured to provide the pharmacists with the facility of procuring medicines on credit to help them set up their businesses once again.
This was informed by Thokchom Dwijamani, general secretary MCDA during a press conference held this afternoon at MCDA Office, BT Road.
He lamented that 12 pharmacies owned by Meiteis had been razed to the ground by Kukis at Moreh, Churachandpur, Torbung and Kangvai.
As a result, the members of MCDA had resolved to collect funds to assist the victims of arson.
At the press conference MCDA members extended financial aid to 10 Meitei pharmacy owners.
Separately, in continuation of its effort to provide relief to victims of violence, Brahmapur Holi Dal, Imphal East has extended monetary aid to the inmates of Shyamasakhi Girls High School at Moirangkhom today.
Displaced families from Moreh, Serou, Sugnu, Itham, Moirangpurel and Tronglaobi are currently seeking refuge here.
Meanwhile three senior consultant doctors of Raj Medicity have also extended financial assistance to support the provision of free treatment of victims affected by the ongoing violence in Manipur.
According to a statement issued by Raj Medicity, North AOC, Dr Kh Kala Singh, senior consultant, CTVS, Dr Th Joy, senior consultant, general medicine and Dr O Ibochou Singh, senior consultant, Anaesthesiology donated Rs 10,000, Rs 20,000 and Rs 37,500 respectively to the management of Raj Medicity.
Chairman & Managing Director of Raj Medicity Haobijam Rajen Singh expressed his gratitude to the generous doctors for their selfless contributions.
Lastly, the Manipur Tennis Fraternity in an extension of humanitarian aid to the victims and affected persons of the ongoing riots in Manipur have extended relief assistance in the form of eatables and other essential items to various relief camps and village defence volunteers operating in four villages in different districts of the State.
Yesterday, the members of the Manipur Tennis Fraternity distributed relief materials at Yumnam Patlou in Imphal East district and Kadangband village Part-II in Imphal West district.
In continuation of the humanitarian effort, the tennis loving fraternity members also extended relief assistance items at the relief camps and village defence volunteers at Khudekpi, Moirang in Bishnupur district and Chairen Mangjin in Kakching district respectively today.
