Aid extension to relief camps continue

Amid the restive situation in the State, many continue to come forward to provide humanitarian aid to families uprooted by the conflict.
With the advent of winter, the teaching and non-teaching staff and students of Kendriya Vidyalaya Imphal No.2 located at GC Camp CRPF Langjing have extended relief to the inmates at Sandhong Makha Mandop Relief Camp under Moirang AC.
The camp is currently providing shelter to 21 displaced families, numbering a total of 84 inmates.
The relief items include one 1000 ltr water reservoir with stand, 21 blankets, 21 hot water bags, 3 room heaters, 2 water boilers, one bag of potatoes and onions each, lentils, garlic, sugar, soybeans, cooking oil, salt, soaps, biscuits, fermented fish, toys for kids, socks, warmer sets, stationery items etc.

Speaking in this connection, Senior PGT English Teacher Ch Elita shared that the relief items had been arranged by 1998, 2000, 2006, 2007 and 2012 alumnus of the school as well as teaching and non-teaching staff.
Notably, TGT English Teacher Sarda Devi handed over a sum of Rs 500 each to the 21 displaced families.
Similarly, the Council for Advancement of Rural Development (CARD), Thoubal distributed relief materials to the inmates staying at Yumbi Macha High School Relief Camp, Kakching today.
The aid extension initiative was supported by Sitaram Jindal Foundation, Bangalore (a charitable organisation) .
A total of 55 inmates consisting of 18 families whose homes were razed to ashes during the course of the conflict are currently sheltering at this relief camp.
The CARD team distributed many relief items including potatoes, onions, cooking oil, drinking glass, notebooks, pens, pencils, Huggies, milk, soaps, colgate, blankets, washing powder, dry fish etc.
In addition, the Youth Volunteers Manipur, Students of Miranda House and Students of Bhagini Nivedita College (University of Delhi) have extended humanitarian aid to the inmates of two relief camps located at Moirang Khunou.
The two relief camps are Moirang Khunou Primary School Khongnang Makhong Relief Camp and Moirang Khunou Mayai Leikai Relief Camp.
The team distributed a total of 32 blankets, 30 cough syrups, 3 bleaching powder packets, washing powder maker, 1 sack of pumpkin, 1 sack of cabbages, 1 sack of squash, incense making kit, sanitary pads, notebooks, pens, pencils, erasers and snacks for children.
Delhi-based Meitei Heritage Welfare Foundation has also extended relief materials including blankets and other essential items such as mosquito repellants to the relief camps at Elangkhangpokpi Mayai Mandav and Thongjao Maning Ching Relief Centre today.
Further, Peace and Relief Committee, Tentha Heibung donated two bags of rice each to the inmates of Wangjing Kodompokpi Sports Complex and Lamding Higher Secondary School relief camp.
