Humanitarian aid extended, medical camps conducted

Many continue to extend humanitarian aid to the displaced people who are staying at various relief camps across the State in a bid to provide some relief and alleviate their problems caused by the prevailing tense situation.
Former students of Dhanamanjuri College of Science (1996-1999 Batch) have provided relief materials to displaced people at several relief camps today.
The former students of the college provided monetary aid and blankets to the relief camps opened at Thangalawai, Nungoo Primary School and Phougakchao Ikhai.
Similarly, former students of Extra Edge School (XII-2016 batch) today distributed relief materials at the relief camps opened in Chairel Mangjil and Elangkhangpokpi Mayai Leikai.

The relief materials included blankets, warmers and essential food items.
Uripok Apunba Lup and Meira Paibis also jointly distributed blankets at Manipur Trade & Expo Centre, Lamboikhongnangkhong Relief Camp.
Besides, Cycling Buddies, a club of cycling enthusiasts from Imphal today visited the relief camp opened at Community Health Centre, Nongada.
The 2nd outreach ride of the club was organised on the theme, "Cycling Together, Healing Together" .
Keeping the Ningol Chakkouba festival in mind, the club gifted phaneks to the women and winter clothes to the children staying in the relief camp.
Food and stationery items were also donated.
JIANA Helping Group Porompat also distributed relief materials to the displaced people taking shelter at Wangoo Tera High School Three Lion Club Relief Camp, M Binod Relief Camp Kakching Khunou and KP College Hiyangthang Relief Camp.
Janata Dal (United), Manipur State Unit, vice president Ahanthem Sanjoy also provided monetary aid to renowned artist Tapta Jayanta on Saturday.
Ahanthem Sanjoy visited the residence of Tapta at Naranseina village in Bishnupur district and provided the aid as a show of support and motivated him to continue his humanitarian service for the people affected by the ongoing conflict.
Meanwhile, Social Welfare Department, Government of Manipur in collaboration with Kangleipak Voluntary Organisation for Rural Development and Social & Cultural Development Centre (SOCDEC), Wangjing, yesterday organised a 1-day Awareness cum Cataract Detection Camp for Senior Citizens at the relief camp opened in Wangjing Kodompokpi Sport Complex.
During the Awareness cum Cataract Detection Camp was conducted under the State Action Plan for Senior Citizens, medical care was provided to a large number of senior citizens who are currently taking shelter at the relief camps set up in Lamding Higher Secondary School, Kodompokpi Sport Complex and Lamding.
At the event, Ng Uttam Singh, Director, Social Welfare Department, shared that facilities for free cataract operation will be provided to inmates of the relief camps who are above the age of 60 years and have been diagnosed with cataract.
Ng Uttam Singh along with Social Welfare Department Deputy Director, L Dhaneshor Singh and Thoubal District, Deputy Commission, A Subhash Singh also distributed certificates to 15 differently abled persons staying at the relief camps opened in Kodompokpi Sport Complex, Research Centre Khangabok Wangbal and Lamding Higher secondary School.
Besides, the High Court of Manipur and Jawaharlal Nehru Institute of Medical Sciences (JNIMS) on Saturday organised a 1-day blood donation camp at JNIMS Hospital.
It was attended by High Court of Manipur, Judge, Ahanthem Bimol Singh; Manipur High Court, Judge, Aribam Guneshwar Sharma; Manipur High Court, Judge, Golmei Gaiphulshillu; JNIMS Director, Professor Laishram Deben Singh; JNIMS medical superintendent Dr Kh Lokeshwar; High Court of Manipur's senior advocates and judicial officers.
Altogether, 30 persons donated their blood during the camp.
