Aid distributed at relief camps

Imphal, October 22 2023:
Several organisations and groups on Sunday distributed relief materials at relief camps set up in different districts for sheltering people who have been displaced by the present crisis in the state.
An official team of Standard Robert Higher Secondary School, Canchipur led by its chairperson Ph Landhoni provided stationery items, blankets, etc., at relief camps opened at Kodompokpi Sports Complex, Wangjing and Kha Manipur College, Kakching.
Similarly, Youth Volunteers Manipur, students of Miranda House and students of Bhagini Nivedita College, Delhi University provided aid at relief camps opened at Moirang Khunou Primary School, Khongnang Makhong and Moirang Khunou Mayai Leikai.
On the other hand, Uripok Apunba Lup and Uripok Nupi Apunba Lup handed over 650 blankets to the inmates of the relief camp set up at Manipur Trade and Expo Centre, Lamboi Khongnangkhong.
Meanwhile, Peace and Relief Committee, Tentha Heibung handed over relief items at the relief camps set up at Kodompokpi Sports Complex, Wangjing and Lamding Higher Secondary School.
On the other hand, Lamding Relief Camp Committee has thanked the volunteers of Peace and Relief Committee, Tentha Heibung for saving an 11-year-old child Huidrom Nganba from drowning in a pond located inside the campus of Lamding Higher Secondary School during their visit to the relief camp.
Similarly, family members of (late) Chongtham Shellungba and (late) Sanatombi of Wahengbam Leikai distributed blankets to inmates of the relief camp set up at Indoor Stadium, Kakching, while Meitei Heritage Welfare Foundation (MHWF), a Delhi-based organisation provided aid at relief camp of Elangkhangpokpi Mayai Mandav in Kakching district.
Pan India Manipuri Meitei Scientists and Academicians' Association (PIMMSSA) provided school bags, shoes and blankets to displaced students, who are taking shelter in the relief camp set up at Ething Sendra.
Meanwhile, 2016 batch Extra Edge Alumni students provided essential items to the inmates of relief camp set up at Elangkhangpokpi Mayai Leikai and to Chairel villagers while Meitei Heritage and Welfare Foundation Delhi handed over winter clothes to relief camps set up at Elangkhangpokpi Mayai Mandap and Thongjao.
Under the project 'Relieving the hunger', Lions Club of Imphal Galaxy provided winter clothes to inmates of relief camp.
The handing over of the winter clothes to the inmates was held at the residence of Lions Club of Imphal former president Konsam Prafulo on Sunday.
