MLA interacts with displaced folks

Moirang AC MLA Thongam Shanti has announced Rs 2 lakh for each displaced family returning to their home.
The monetary aid is for families whose houses were not burnt but abandoned during the conflict.
The aid is for repairing their houses and proper resettlement, MLA Th Shanti said.
He made the announcement while speaking to displaced people at the temporary shelter at Kwakta Sericulture Training Centre.
103 inmates were given blankets to cope with the winter season.
Inmates at other relief camps will also be given the blankets, he said.
He informed the inmates that the transport fare of students staying in the camp will also be borne by the Government.
Efforts are on to rebuild 18 houses burnt at Phougakchao Ikhai, he added.
He stated that additional security forces have been deployed at the High Canal area for smooth harvesting of paddy.
Th Shanti said he has spoken to the Chief Minister about the bunkers that have been reportedly erected at Naranseina Maning.
The bunkers will be removed soon, he added.
