Friendly football raises anti-drug awareness

Imphal, June 12 2022:
In a bid to spread awareness on the importance of sports and effect of abuse of drugs, Chakpi Young Minds (CYM) on Saturday organised a friendly football match 'Dural Derby' at Chakpikarong High School ground in Chandel district.
The friendly match was played by teams from different villages of Chakpikarong sub division.
CYM member Ch Morning Anal informed that the intention of organising the match was to bring unity amongst the youth of Chakpikarong and to raise awareness on harmful effect of drugs and its consequences.
"We're planning to host this event every month.
So, I urge every youth in Chakpikarong to give your support and cooperation.
This event will help us bring peace, harmony and unity amongst the youth in the subdivision and also let's make our small town healthy and a drug free society," Morning added.
Ex-ADC member Warngam Nula, who attended as special guest, called upon the youth of Chakpikarong to come together not just in sports but also in building the society for a better generation.
He advised the youngsters to stay away from drugs and other intoxicants.
Two players namely Tangkhel Langhu and Koboy Nula were awarded with the man of the match awards.
