Student bodies organise spelling, essay competitions

Imphal, June 12 2022:
The preliminary round of 9th SUK (Students' Union of Kangleipak) state level spelling competition was held at Khuman Lampak Indoor Stadium here on Sunday.
In a release, SUK informed that more than 5,000 students took part in the preliminary round of the competition which was conducted in two categories, namely Category A (Class 5 to 7) and Category B (Class 8 to 10) .
The result of the competition will be declared on June 14 and those selected will take part in the final, which will be held on June 19.Meanwhile, in connection with World Environment Day, All Manipur Students' Union (AMSU), Imphal West District Committee, organised Imphal West district level essay competition on the theme 'Environment Protection: Need of the hour' .
In a release, AMSU IW district committee informed that 600 students from 30 different schools took part in the competition held for Class VIII to X .
The result of the district level competition will be announced on June 19, it informed.
Similarly, Ibotombi Institute of Education conducted an essay writing competition on the topic 'Covid-19 pandemic and its impact on study' at the premises of the institute located at Kha Naorem Leikai, Canchipur on Sunday.
Naorem Priyalakshmi of Keishamthong High School (Class VIII), Samjetsabam Victoria Chanu of Regular English High School (Class VII) and Rk Ilusia Devi of Nirmalabas High School (Class VIII) won first, second and third position respectively, a release informed, while adding that the winners and all the participants were honoured with cash prizes, certificates and mementoes.
