Cyclone storm past SCCC in Elite cricket

Imphal, June 12 2022:
Cyclone (Thangmeiband) recorded a massive 91-run win over SCCC (Singjamei) in their Group B meeting in 6th MNCA W Prahlada & W Ramananda Elite Tournament on Sunday.
Cyclone batted first and amassed 208 for 7 in the stipulated 40 overs.
Bikash Singh took centre stage with an unbeaten 66 off 54 balls as Narsingh Yadav made 38 off 37 balls and Kishan Laishram scored 32 off 18 balls, with contributions from Paul Zomi (19) and Thoudam Akshaykumar (10) .
The Thangmeiband side then produced a disciplined bowling display to bowl out SCCC for 117 in 38.4 overs.
In SCCC's run chase, Rohit Moirangthem (29 not out), Sandeep Chakraborty (20), Jaali Ahmed Chisti (19) and Lishan Meitei Khaidem (10) were the batters who got into double digits.
For Cyclone, Thoudam Akshaykumar was the pick of the bowlers with four wickets in six overs and Maisnam Raju took two wickets, with Bikash Singh, Nongmaithem Suraj, Lishan Laishram and Longjam Ronald Meitei accounting for one each to propel their side to an emphatic victory.
Earlier, Pinkey Sanasam and Lishan Meitei Khaidem picked up two wickets each while Rakeshwor Republic Hidangmayum and Abduk Kasim took one each.
Bikash Singh, who smashed an unbeaten 66 and claimed one wicket, was adjudged the man of the match.
TRAU will play CRAU in a Group A match on Monday.
