Signature campaign launched against price rise

Imphal, June 12 2022:
With an objective to petition the President of India against the price rise and for improving PDS on August 15, All Manipur Democratic Women's Association (AMDWA) has started a signature campaign from Sunday.
In a release, AMDWA general secretary Ayekpam Ashabala informed that around 500 signatures were collected from Ima Keithel and Paona Bazar on the first day of the campaign.
It is a part of ALL India Democratic Women's Association's campaign of collecting one crore signatures from all over the country.
The demands of the campaign include ensuring PDS items to every citizen, increasing budget for Food Security Act and quantity of food grains distributed through PDS, providing subsidy on LPG refills, provision of 12 LPG refills in a year to a household, reducing price of cooking gas and stopping usage of biometric system in PDS among others.
She further urged the people particularly womenfolk to support the campaign.
