2nd MNCA Superplate Tournament : ESU seal 79 run victory over PCC, FORCE end KSDO's three game winning run

Chongtham Mehul Shreth scored 25 runs before enjoying a four wicket haul to steer ESU-Wangkhei Palace Compound to a comfortable 79-run victory over PCC, Mayaikoibi in a Group B clash of the ongoing 2nd MNCA Superplate Tournament.
ESU, having won twice in three matches, won the toss and opted to bat first today at Kongba Khunou Dhobi Lampak.
They were however bundled out for a moderate total of 195 runs in 34.5 overs as Mairenbam Lucky spun web around ESU batters to finish with a fifer and set up the collapse.
Spin duo of Mehul Shreth and Thokchom Nishikanta then led the ESU's bowling attack to help bowl out PCC for just 116 runs in 30.4 overs in the chase for the comfortable victory.

ESU had a shaky start and saw their wickets fell in regular intervals before them succumbed five runs away from the 200-run mark with right arm off-break bowler Mairembam Lucky removing a bulk of five wickets including the wicket of the highest run getter Thokchom Nishikanta (44) and the last wicket.
The most significant partnership for ESU was the fifth wicket stand between M Bimananda Singh (31) and Thokchom Nishikanta (44) after Chongtham Mehul (25) and Sanatomba (32) had played their part.
L Chingkheihunba, Thokchom Anand, Thoudam Monet, Rohit Soubam and Longjam Gibson also chipped in with a wicket apiece.
PCC had a more disastrous start and lost Charoibam Tyson for a 2-ball duck before Mehul Shreth picked three wickets in the 9th wicket including two on ducks to reduce them 42 for 4 .
PCC skipper Rohit Soubam then saw his partners tumble in quick succession with Thokchom Nishikanta joining forces with Mehul Shreth to pile more pressure on their rivals.
Despite Rohit Soubam scoring an unbeaten 47 off 94 balls, PCC had to end their chase at 116 runs in 30.4 overs.
Chongtham Mehul Shreth returned with the best bowling figures of 4/15 in 8 overs and was declared man of the match while Nishikanta finished with 3/20 in 7.4 overs.
M Papathoi and Bishomcha Khundrakpam also snatched a wicket each to set up the PCC batting implode.
Elsewhere at Khangabok Part III Cherapur Public Ground, FORCE-Kshetrigao posted their third straight victory by ending KSDO's three game (Group A) winning streak with a 31 run win.
Khushru Pravesh starred with his bat today scoring 84 runs off 66 balls to help FORCE amass 160 runs for all wickets down in 29.4 overs.
They however produced a more superior bowling performance to bowl KSDO out for 129 runs in 34.2 overs.
In FORCE's innings, Md Islauddin (18), Riyaz Khan (17 not out) and Mushir Alam (13) also registered double digit figures as Sangomshumpham Shah Nawaz (3/18) picked three wickets and Lakimbur (2/15) grabbed two wickets each.
KSDO's Syed Amir Ali, Tarique Aziz, Md Shamir Khan and Shahjajan also picked up a wicket each before they faltered badly in the chase.
Only Md Raish Raza (38), Tarique Aziz (22), Abdul Rafique (13) and Anish Khan (13) were main run getter for the team with Md Sarif Alam emerging wrecker-in-chief as he snatched four wickets for 20 runs and Md Islauddin removing three key wickets to finish with (3/20) .
Khushru who hit a half century in their innings also picked up two wickets and eventually walked away with the man of the match trophy.
