MSF denounces illegal printing of textbooks

Taking serious note of printing and marketing of textbooks without the permission of the Council of Higher Secondary Education, Manipur (COHSEM), Manipuri Students' Federation (MSF) has asked those involved in the unethical trade practice to come to MSF office by Wednesday.
Addressing a press meet at its Kwakeithel Thounaojam Leikai office, here, on Tuesday, MSF vice-president Hijam Roshan informed that a team of MSF executive committee members conducted drive regarding sale of textbooks for10+2 courses during which textbooks of NCERT, New Delhi were found sold by pasting fresh price tags over the original price.
For instance, textbooks of Mathematics for class 11 is sold at Rs 250 against the original MRP of Rs 210, Physics Part 1 at Rs 240 against the original price of Rs 195, Chemistry Part 2 for class 12 at Rs 170 against the original price of Rs 135, Mathematics Part 1 and 2 for class 12 at Rs 160 & Rs 190 against the original price of Rs 130 & Rs 180 respectively, Prose & Poetry of class 12 at Rs 180 against the original price of Rs 150, elaborated the vice president.
He appealed to the public not to buy textbooks or reference books, if they found fresh price stickers concealing the original MRP.
Moreover, the federation has received report of some individuals printing COHSEM's textbooks for class 11 and 12 without approval from COHSEM, which is a serious issue, Roshan said and asked those involved in unauthorised printing of textbooks and pasting fresh price stickers to come to MSF office by Wednesday.
