Health camp held in honour of Jyotiba Phule

Imphal, April 11 2023:
A free health camp was held as a part of the 196th birth anniversary of Mahatma Jyotiba Phule and Social Justice Week at Palace Compound, today.
The health camp was organised by Chief Medical Officer, Imphal East; Palace Compound Youth Welfare Club and Sana Konung Meira Paibi Women Association under the supervision of Rajya Sabha MP Leisemba Sanajaoba.
Several doctors of JNIMS also attended the camp.
During the camp, the gatherings led by Leisemba Sanajaoba offered floral tributes to the photo of Jyotiba Phule.
At the occasion, the Rajya MP said that Jyotiba Phule born at Pune, Maharashtra was a social reformer.

Saying that it was Prime Minister Narendra Modi who publicized the contribution of the social reformer to the society, Leisemba Sanajaoba continued that most Indians now know about the social reformer who stood against caste system, sati, and other social ills.
Jyotiba Phule also worked to uplift the women and established an orphanage in the olden days, he added.
Saying that there are many other lesser known personalities whose contribution to the society was immense, the Rajya Sabha thanked the Prime Minister for tracing the roots of these people.
Vice president of BJP State Unit N Nimbus also attended the programme.
