Two UG cadres held

Based on a specific intelligence input regarding movement of a UG cadre, troops of 45 Assam Rifles of 9 Sector Assam Rifles under the aegis of Hqs IGAR (S) along with the personnel of Heingang police station established a vehicle check post at Khabam Lamkhai and apprehended one NSCN (K) cadre yesterday.
The apprehendee has been identified as self styled Chingkhuiduan Gangmei (20) s/o Gaikulung Gangmei of Noney in Tamenglong district.
The apprehendee revealed that he joined the outfit in January 2008 and he had received 60 days training, said a press release issued by PRO Hqs IGAR (S).
Chingkhuiduan is expert in handling AK-47 rifles, the press release said and added that the apprehendee has been handed over to Heingang police station.
In another operation, troops of 11 Assam Rifles of 26 Sector Assam Rifles under the aegis of Hqs IGAR (S) along with Manipur police commandos launched a joint operation at Sunrise ground, Ward No 3, Moreh and apprehended one UNLF cadre yesterday.
The aprehendee was trying to infiltrate into India through Sunrise ground, the press release said.
He has been identified as self styled Sgt Maj Lisham Ibungo Tomba Singh (37) of Thambalkhong in Imphal East district.
The apprehendee has been handed over to Moreh police station, added the press release.
