Kuki aLert extends financial assistance to bereaved family

Kuki aLert (KA), a mobile WhatsApp group extended financial assistance to the family members of late Walunglua Aimol @ Manglun of Ngairong village, Chandel district on Saturday.
Members of the group led by KA administrator T Houpu Haokip, and Hills Today editor Mark Haokip handed over a financial assistance of Rs.20,000 in cash to Chinneilhing Aimol, wife of (L) Walunglua Aimol @ Manglun at her residence.
The money was contributed by the members of the WhatsApp Group.
T Houpu Haokip said that the assistance was provided to show solidarity to the bereaved family members of (L) Walunglua Aimol @ Manglun who was shot dead by suspected militants for upholding the identity of the Aimol Tribe on the fateful morning of August 22 last near his residence.

"Even though he was not known to us, we deeply condole his untimely demise and show our respect to the dauntless departed soul," he added.
He also maintained that the untimely demise of Walunglua is not a lost only for the family members but it is also an irreparable loss for the Aimol Tribe in particular and the Kuki in general.
However, the family members should not be disheartened by his untimely demise.
Instead, they should feel proud of him as he is a martyr who sacrificed his own life for upholding his identity, he consoled.
Haokip further assured that the members of Kuki aLert would extend whatever possible assistance to the bereaved family members in the near future too.
While expressing gratitude to the members of the Kuki aLert for their generosity, Chinneilhing Aimol also thanked all other individuals, organizations, churches for standing beside her and her family in times of grief and also for helping in cash, kinds and in other ways.
She also urged all to pray not only for her family but also pray for the Aimol Tribe to enable us to uphold our true identity unitedly.
