School upgradation demanded

The Parents' committee of the Kasturba Gandhi Balika Bidyalaya, Andro, has demanded the upgradation of the middle school to a high school for girls.
The Kasturba Gandhi Balika Bidyalaya started functioning as a school for standard V to VIII girls in 2013 at Andro Loupaochum, Imphal East, parents committee secretary Konsam Nazi Leima told mediapersons today.
Stating the economic conditions of most of the students, the committee secretary demanded State Government to upgrade the school into a high school at the earliest.
The committee has also urged the State Government to increase the seat intake of each classes from 35 to 45-50 each.
It has further appealed the same to check the utilization of teachers posted in the area at other schools.
