Senapati, August 17 2026:
A delegation of the Naga People's Front (NPF) Central Headquarters, Kohima, led by Vipopal Kintso, vice president and in-charge of the NPF Manipur State Unit, along with vice presidents Kekongchim Yimkhiung and Angyie Konyak, visited Makhan village on August 10 .
During the visit, the delegation met displaced Naga families currently sheltered at Makhan village.
The more than 200 people taking shelter at the village include the family members, wives and children of the six Naga men who were abducted and killed.
The delegation expressed deep anguish after hearing the accounts of the affected families and witnessing their plight.
The team condemned the brutal killing of the six Nagas, describing the incident as a heinous act that had caused immense suffering to the victims' families.
Demanding immediate and expedited justice, the team asserted that failure to take exemplary action against those responsible for the inhumane act could erode public faith in the Government and the administration of law and justice.
The team also appealed to the Government of Manipur to extend relief and rehabilitation to all people affected by the ongoing social unrest in a judicious manner, without fear or favour.
The NPF further appealed to the Government of India to show empathy towards the people affected by the conflict in Manipur and to intervene sagaciously to restore peace and harmony in the State.
