People of Khurai area, mainly women, took part in the protest.
Speaking to the media, the protestors said many of the issues Manipur is facing are caused by illegal migrants.
The illegal migrants from Myanmar and other places have caused chaos and they are constantly trying to damage the peaceful relationships between the Meiteis and other ethnic communities in Manipur.
Some of the illegal migrants have also started to claim custody over historic Koubru and Thangjing Ching (Hill), they said.

The protestors also asserted that some of the militant outfits which are a part of the SoO (Suspension of Operation) are supporting and encouraging sections of people to encroach on land belonging to the valley.
They said the Government should suspend the SoO agreement it signed with organisations like the KNO/KNA and ZRO/ZRA.
These organisations are run by foreigners from Myanmar, they claimed.
The protestors also alleged that organisations under the SoO are also taking advantage of the agreement and encouraging people in the some hill villages to adopt poppy plantations directly encouraging illegal drug manufacturing and trafficking in Manipur.
