Imphal, April 29 2024:
Shiv Sena, Manipur State unit has questioned the Central Government's inaction even after Kuki narco-terrorists have started targeting Central forces.
The party has also strongly condemned the attack carried out by Kuki narco-terrorists against security forces at Naranseina in which two CRPF jawans were killed.
Speaking at a reception function held today in honour of six individuals who have joined the party recently, Shiv Sena State unit president M Tombi asked as to why the Central Government has been protecting the Kuki narco-terrorists even after they have started targeting Central forces in addition to unleashing terror upon the Meitei community.
Pointing out that the territorial boundary of Manipur is not something demarcated or gifted by India, Tombi went on to question if the Kuki narco-terrorists are serving any interest of the Central Government.
Stating that the SoO agreement expired on March 29, 2024, he asked the Central Government why it is keeping mum on the status of the agreement, whether it has been extended or abrogated.
He urged the Central Government to take up tangible action in order to check robbery and other criminal activities on National Highways.
If the Government is not in a position to secure the highways, people may be constrained to secure the highways, he said.
Highlighting the recent attack on truck drivers on Imphal-Jiribam highway, M Tombi urged the Government to provide licensed guns to the truck drivers.
He also questioned the Central Government's deafening silence even after a key bridge of Imphal-Dimapur highway was destroyed using high intensity explosives.
M Tombi who is also convenor of NDA in Manipur appealed to the NDA candidate and workers to ensure that the repoll scheduled tomorrow at six polling stations of Outer Manipur Parliamentary Constituency is held peacefully in the true spirit of democracy.
