Thoubal, April 29 2024:
In continuation of its humanitarian act of extending monetary assistance to the victims of the prevailing conflict, CCIAN Forum Peace Committee Manipur provided monetary aid of Rs 15,000 to injured village volunteer Ningthoujam James (21 yrs) of Heirok.
It may be noted that James sustained bullet injuries during an attack by armed Kuki miscreants near Genjang village in Tengnoupal district on April 12 last and is currently undergoing treatment at Raj Medicity.
A team of CCIAN Forum Peace Committee Manipur visited the residence of James at Heirok Part-II Maning Leikai and handed over the monetary aid to his family members to help in his treatment.
Speaking in connection with today's visit, CCIAN Forum Peace Committee Manipur convenor Angomcha Chingkhei raised serious concern over the failure of the Indian Government to resolve the yearlong conflict in Manipur.
Stating that India is at fourth position globally in terms of strong military forces, Angomcha Chingkhei maintained that it is really unfortunate that the Government of such a powerful nation is unable to end the year long ethnic conflict in Manipur.
He alleged that 'The Indian Government considers election more important than the suffering of the people of Manipur'.
Considering the series of past events where the Government has failed to provide adequate security to the affected people of the State, the committee convenor stated that the civilians have to protect themselves from the atrocities of the aggressors.
Lastly the committee expressed gratitude to Kangleipak ki Tengbangba Ereichasing (KTE) for extending their support in providing financial assistance to James.
