Male body found at Lanva river

Churachandpur, December 17 2022:
A male body was found floating in Lanva river between Vaalveng and Kawnpui, here on Saturday around 10:20 am.
The deceased has been identified as Lammuanthang (33), son of Thiankim of T Daijang village.
The body was found lying prostrated wearing only underwear.
According to sources, wife of the deceased said that Lammuanthang went to the market at New Bazar with his daughters by boarding a diesel auto rickshaw from Misao Lhahvom around 6 am on Friday.
After finishing purchase of clothes, they parted company, but he failed to return home the whole night and a desperate search by the family members failed to yield any positive result.
The body showed marks of an injury on his head supposedly caused by a blunt weapon and another injury between his knee and ankle.
Based on the deceased family's desire, police have not filed any case.
The mortal remains were laid to rest at T Daijang village cemetery on the day itself.
