National Photo Exhibition "Deep Focus" on Dec 19, 20

Manipur University Mass Communication Department will organise the first-of-its-kind National Photo Exhibition titled "Deep Focus" on December 19 and 20 at the department.
In a release, Deep Focus me* dia team member N Hemchand Meitei informed that photographers, photo enthusiast from West Bengal, Punjab, Assam, New Delhi, Chandigarh, Meghalaya, Uttar Pradesh, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Bihar, Nagaland, Kerala, Himachal Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir, Rajasthan, Maharashtra, Ch-hatisgarh, Sikkim and Manipur have submitted more than 200 photos for the exhibition.
The submitted photos are curated and selected for the exhibition by panel of jury consisting of a Mumbai based photographer Farhan Hussain, art critic and scholar Swati Bandi from Bangalore and Mass Communication Department faculty Johnson Rajkumar.
Informing that "Deep Focus" is initiated by the students of Mass Communication on the history of Manipur, the member added that the exhibition will act as an archive through the timeline of Manipur back in the days.
Photographs dating back to almost a centpry will be exhibited along with display of photos on lifestyle followed during 60s, 70s and years before that.
Varieties of vintage cameras, vintage photo printing equipment that was in use before the digital age will be at display, the release said.
The exhibition will also give a platform for both professional and amateur photographers to display their work besides conduct of discourse on curation of vintage photographs, workshop or talk and on-spot photography competition, Hemchand informed.
