Will protect district boundary: KDPDC

Kakching District Protection and Development Committee (KDPDC) president, Yengkhom Bheigyachandra today appreciated Chief Minister N Biren Singh for directing the Deputy Commissioners concerned to solve the issues related to district boundary.
Speaking to media persons, Bheigyachandra informed that a public meeting was held today at the Conference Hall of Kakching Municipal Council to deliberate on the issue of district boundary and promote peace & harmony among all the communities.
Endorsing the steps taken by Kakching District Administration in regard to district boundaries, he urged the District Administration to initiate necessary measures to ascertain the district boundaries.
Pointing out that there are no restrictions on people from hill areas coming to Kakching district to live/settle, he stated that many communities have been residing harmoniously in the districts for a long time.
"However, changing the name of the district and creating dispute by people who recently came to areas under Kakching district is uncalled for", said Bheigyachandra while adding that the Committee will not compromise and protect the district boundary.
He also urged all the people residing in areas under Kakching district to register in the district's electoral roll.
The public meeting was attended by Kakching Municipal Council ex-chairperson, N Sanjitkumar; Sugnu Municipal Council ex-chairperson, M Sarat; social worker Y Satya and members of CSOs.
