Mega legal awareness camp held across State

As part of the Nationwide campaign, "Empowerment of Citizens through Legal Awareness", District Legal Services Authority, Bishnupur in collaboration with Manipur State Legal Services Authority (MASLSA) and under the aegis of National Legal Services Authority (NALSA) today organised a 1-day mega legal awareness camp at District Court Complex, Bishnupur.
It was attended by W Tonen Meitei, District & Session Judge Bishnupur cum Chairman DLSA Bishnupur and Sharda Yengkhom, secretary DLSA Bishnupur, said a release issued by DLSA.
During the camp, free health check-ups and benefits of Health cards, Weaving cards, and opening of bank accounts were provided to the public.

IMPHAL
DLSA Imphal West in collaboration with DC, Imphal West also conducted a Legal Awareness cum Mega Beneficiary Camp at Kuranganayani Hall, DC, Imphal West Office Complex, Lamphelpat.
It was attended by A Guneshwar Sharma, District & Sessions Judge, Imphal West cum Chairman DLSA Imphal West; Janggoulen Haokip, Chief Judicial Magistrate, Imphal West cum Secretary DLSA Imphal West; Madan Gopal Laishram, AC to DC, Imphal West and Ksh Shivakanta Singh, Superintendent of Police, Imphal.
The camp provided various public services such as enrollment of Aadhaar card, Labour card, CMHT medical checkup, E-Court services, legal counselling, Legal Aid Services and assistance on various Government schemes, etc.
NONEY
DLSA Tamenglong and District Administration Noney under the aegis of MASLSA & NALSA today jointly organised a 1-Day Mega Legal Awareness Camp at Multipurpose Hall, Longmai Part III, Noney District.
It was attended by Joseph Pauline Kamson, DC Noney; Adai Dangmei, chairman Villages Council Longmai Area Noney; K Rojen Singh, Assistant Commandant, 10 Assam Rifles, Noney as presidium members.
The event began with a welcome address by N Rajnikanta Singh, District & Sessions Judge Tamenglong cum Chairman DLSA Tamenglong.
Namsadai Peter, Additional SP (LO) Noney; Ch Momon Singh, advocate; and Dr Th Tapasini Devi, Asst Professor, Department of Law, Manipur University spoke on the occasion.
Moreover, DLSA Tamen-glong also organised a 1-day legal awareness programme on the topics, "Government schemes" and "NALSA (Protection and Enforcement of Tribal Rights) Scheme, 2015" at Community Hall, Dolang village, Noney district yesterday.
The programme began with a welcome address by Agui Kamei, secretary, information & publicity, Rongmei Naga Peoples' Organisation (RNPO) .
RK Imoba, retainer lawyer Imphal West elaborated on NALSA Scheme, 2015 and benefits provided under National Food Security Act.
B Supriya Devi, advocate and Dr Laishram Rina Devi, secretary DLSA Tamenglong also spoke on the occasion.
SENAPATI
As part of the campaign, "Empowerment of Citizens through Legal Awareness and Outreach", N Keertichand Singh, chairman DLSA Senapati flagged off a door-to-door campaign from District & Sessions Court Complex, Senapati yesterday.
The flagging off ceremony was attended by Margaret Niangsiamkim, secretary DLSA Senapati; Ningombam Sofiarani Devi, JMFC Kangpokpi; H L Jain, ADM Senapati; L M Len Singsit, Asst Commissioner Kangpokpi; Koshia Mao, Additional Public Prosecutor, District & Sessions Court, Senapati; panel lawyers and staff of DLSA Senapati.
TENGNOUPAL
DLSA Chandel under the aegis of MASLSA today organised a Mega Legal Awareness Camp at Teraphai village, Tengnoupal District.
It was attended by Kimneingah Kipgen, secretary DLSA Chandel; Hechin Haokip, secretary Centre for Women & Girl.
The programme began with a welcome speech by Kh Jacky Lucy of DLSA Chandel.
A total of 231 beneficiaries from various villages took part in the camp.
UKHRUL
DLSA Ukhrul also organised a Mega Legal Awareness Camp at KR Ground, Kazipphung, Hungpung, Ukhrul District today.
The camp began with a welcome address by Samom Ibjen, District & Session Judge and Chairman DLSA Ukhrul.
Heeralata Moirangthem, Chief Judicial Magistrate cum Secretary DLSA Ukhrul; PA Phungreishung, Judicial Magistrate First Class cum Civil Judge, Junior Division; Panel Lawyers, DLSA staff, PLVs and Legal functionaries of Ukhrul district attended the event.
The District Health Department, Social Welfare Department, District Disability Rehabilitation Centre, District Child protection Unit & Child Welfare Committee of Ukhrul also participated in the mega camp.
About 350 people of Ukhrul district benefited from the camp.
