CADA continues to protest against alcohol legalisation

The Coalition Against Drugs and Alcohol continues to push forward with their demand to revoke alcohol legalisation with the staging of sit-in protests at two different locations under Imphal East district today.
According to a statement, All Manipur Women Social Reformation & Development Samaj (Nupi Samaj), United Voluntary Women Association and CADA Imphal East District Committee jointly organised a sit-in protest at Yumnam Patlou Keithelshang today.
Speaking by the sideline of the protest, Nandeibam Sanatombi, president, United Voluntary Association stated that many youths have lost their lives to alcohol abuse and as a result, the Association will never accept the State Cabinet's decision to partially lift the prohibition on alcohol and will support CADA in their undertaking to this effect.
Thus, he called upon the Government to revoke alcohol legalisation.
Similarly, at Naharup Seva Marup Community Hall, All Manipur Women Social Reformation & Development Samaj (Nupi Samaj), Naharup Mayai Leikai Women Welfare Association, Naharup Awang Leikai Women Welfare Association, Pangong Makhong Women Welfare Association, Makhapa Women Welfare Association, Wakha Women Welfare Association and CADA jointly organised a sit-in protest today.
The participating protestors shouted slogans urging the Government to rollback alcohol legalisation and save the youth from alcohol abuse.
