Lecture prog, medical camp organised

Keithelmanbi Battalion of HQ IGAR (South) organised a financial management Lecture for its troops at Keithelmanbi in Imphal West district on Saturday.
In a release, PRO IGAR (S) informed that the main aim of the lecture was to educate the troops about the importance of financial management and how to manage their salary effectively.
The lecture conducted by representatives from Pramerica Life Insurance educated the troops on the advantages of the defence salary package, various schemes available for the welfare of girl child, loan schemes, insurance schemes, health schemes available for civilians and defence personnel.
Speaking at the dosing ceremony, Battalion officials pointed out the importance of savings and how to invest smartly with specific reference to defence personnel.
Meanwhile, Khuga Battalion of IGAR (South) organised a medical camp at border villages of Hiangtam Khunou and Zou Khunou in Churachandpur district on Sunday in continuation of its efforts to improve mutual trust and to maintain peace and harmony in the region while simultaneously addressing the medical requirements in the underdeveloped border villages in the district.
In a release, PRO IGAR (S) informed the opportunity was also utilised to raise awareness amongst the locals on type, causes, prevention of cancer including the palliative care.
The lecture also focussed on effects of cancer on physical as well as emotional and psychological wellbeing of patients, families and caregivers.
A total of 150 villagers were examined by the , Assam Riflesmedical team and were also given essential medicines.
