Book chronicles Sanamahi ethics, dress code

"Sanamahi Laininggi Ethics and Phijolsing", a book edited by Sapam Bheigya (Sanatomba) was released by Mutua Museum, Imphal director Mutua Bahadur as chief guest during a function held at State Central Library, Keishampat, here, on Sunday.
Presided over by retired headmaster Nabakumar Oinam, the book release function was attended by All Manipur Working Journalists' Union (AMWJU) president Wangkhemcha Shamjai as guest of honour.
Speaking on the occasion, Sapam Bheigya, who is also the president of International Sanamahi Association, explained that the book is a collection of papers presented at the state level seminar held on the topic of 'Ethics and dress code of Sanamahism' in 2018 .
Ihe release of the book, however, was delayed due to Covid-19 pandemic.
Although Sanamahism has its own unique set of customs, traditions and dress code, there is no written material specifically on the same.
As such, the book has been brought out with the objective of putting the same in writing, he said, while adding that this book is not the last to be released on the subject and sought cooperation in gathering further information on the topic.
Manipur University Law Department assistant Prof Dr S Dilipkumar shared his thoughts on the book.
