Critics' Forum, Manipur president Dr Lamabam Gojendro has called upon the theatre groups in the state to make joint efforts for developing the proscenium theatre in the state.

Unfortunately, popularity of theatre is declining in the state due to various factors, he noted while stressing the need for concerted efforts by all theatre groups to regain the lost popularity.
As there are only a few individuals or theatre groups left, which are working in the held with true passion, the fate of proscenium theatre is in a crucial stage, Dr Gojendro said and called for unity among the theatre groups and supporting one another.
Art lovers should also extend their support towards promoting the art form.
At the same time, the government needs to pay more focus on art and culture like it does in sports, he added.

'Tangoi' has been designed and directed by Zuma Khan.
