Sit-in protests fuel price hike

Imphal, August 18 2021:
All Manipur Nupi Marup organised a sit-in protest against hike of prices of petroleum products including cooking gas on Wednesday.
In a statement, the Marup said that increasing price of cooking gas by Rs 25 overnight adversely affects the homemakers.
LPG price was hiked for two times in April and July and it was raised again on Wednesday and the price has reached Rs 1011.Apart from cooking gas, prices of other essential commodities have also increased two-fold in the last few months.
It is a challenge to the poor people, the statement said, while terming it as a crime against the common people.
It then demanded the government to bring down the prices of petroleum products and other essential commodities.
