Lions Club reaches out to visually impaired students

Imphal, August 18 2021:
Amid the surge of second wave of COVID-19 pandemic, Lions Club of Imphal Greater distributed essential commodities to 25 visually impaired students of Government Ideal Blind School, Takyel.
The program was organised under the Global theme of Lions Club International 'Feed the Hunger Project' .
Altogether 25 bags of essential commodities each containing rice, edible oil, potatoes, onions, sugar, eggs, soap, toothpaste, tea leaves, detergent powder and snacks were distributed, said a state by Lions Club of Imphal Greater.
The distribution program which was led by Lion Ashok Konjengbam, president of the Lions Club was organised in association with Sakura-an online marketing company of Manipur which contributed snacks and breakfast items.
The essential commodities were delivered to the doorsteps of the students with the help of Sports Association for the Visually Impaired (SAVI) Manipur and the key members of Lions Club were also present on the occasion, added the statement.
SAVI in a statement extended gratitude to Lions Club of Imphal Greater for their thoughtful assistance provided during such trying times.
