Yatra reaches Moreh

The Jan Ashirwad Yatra of Union Minister of State for Education and External Affairs Dr RK Ranjan Singh -reached Moreh, today, reports our correspondent.
He was accorded a warm welcome by BJP Tengnoupal Mandal.
Whilst at the border town, the MoS met leaders of various communities and also paid respect to the statue of Chengjapao near Moreh police station.
Later, an interaction programme was held at the conference hall of Hill Tribal Council, Moreh.
The programme was also attended by Kakching AC MLA M Rameshor; BJP, State president A Sharda Devi, former MP Ksh Bhabananda; BJP ST Morcha Manipur Pradesh president, Langjangei Kamei; vice president J Khongsai and BJP spokesperson Benjamin Mate among other party leaders.
At the event, Dr Ranjan said that the yatra is being taken out to seek blessing from the people.
He also said that the Central Government has honoured several 'unsung' freedom fighters on 75th Independence Day for their contribution to the freedom struggle of India.
Meanwhile, six organisations based in Moreh submitted certain proposals to the visiting MoS for the development of the border town.
In the joint memorandum, Hill Tribal Council Moreh; Tamil Sangam Moreh; Meitei Council Moreh; Manipuri Muslim Council Moreh; All Community Development Organisation Moreh and Gorkha Samaj Sewa Samiti Moreh highlighted that many promising children in the district are unable to attend private school and urged that a JNV School be set up at Moreh.
The statement also said that suitable land is available for setting up the proposed school.
The six organisations also urged the visiting MoS to improve the water supply system at Moreh and blacktop all inter village roads within the border town.
The proposals submitted by the organisations for implementation in Moreh also include introduction of Visa facility, establishment of community cultural centre and construction of a dam at Khujailok river.
Dr Ranjan assured the organisations to look into their proposals.
