Kangpokpi, May 28 2023:
BJP Manipur secretary Pa-okam Haokip has conveyed to Union minister of state for home Nityanand Rai and BJP national spokesperson Sambit Patra that the violence in the BJP-ruled state is so explosive that even ruling BJP leaders and workers belong-ing to the Kuki community are not safe anymore in inner Manipur.
Highlighting the impractical situation of working together as party leaders and workers in inner Manipur, the secretary said, "Despite we all being Indian working together for the welfare of people under the BJP, the current violence in Manipur is so devastating that we are no more safe in the inner Manipur." He continued that Kuki BJP leaders and workers are vastly contributing to the party and that there are many ministers and MLAs and thousands of workers apart from many leaders from the community working for the welfare of the people.
"However, the party's president and the chief minister N Biren could not even save us and we are no longer in a position to return to the inner Manipur to work for the party," he added.
"Even I the state secretary, I was almost killed, but thank God, I had a narrow escape," Paokam said.
He then apprised the visiting central leaders of the urgent need for an alter-native arrangement in the form of sep-arate administration to enable the party leaders and workers from the Kuki community to work peacefully for the welfare of the people and the nation.
BJP Sadar Hills president Thangja-mang Kipgen also highlighted his griev-ances and ordeals to the BJP central leaders, saying that his native village Bongbal Khullen had been completely burnt down.
Thangjamang also urged the visiting central leaders for permanent security posts at various strategic locations in Bongbal Khullen area.
