Strong protest lodged against inaction

Peeved over the Kuki militant groups carrying out arson, gun attack and other forms of violence at Meetei villages despite the deployment of large companies of Central security forces, movement of Central security forces was obstructed at different places today.
Meanwhile, security forces fired tear gas shells along Tiddim Road and some other places of Imphal.
In the police firing, one Konjengbam Henry got hit by a rubber bullet.
People in large number blocked Tiddim Road from Keishampat to Kwakeithel by burning tyres to prevent movement of Central security forces while those coming from either side of the road stretch were made to return from the sides they came.

Reportedly, people blocked the road to show their distrust to the Central security forces.
Similar roadblock was also seen at different areas along the road stretch between Uripok and Phayeng to obstruct the movement of Central security forces.
Stretch of Imphal-Dimapur road was half closed at Chingmeirong Sangakpham while Central security forces coming along the route were made to take a U-turn by the locals.
It is also reported that womenfolk blocked five-six vehicles of Assam Rifles at Khabam Lamkhai.
Six vehicles of Central security forces were also stopped by a mob at Achanbigei in Imphal East later in the afternoon and asked to return.
