Houses of MLAs vandalised, two injured

Imphal, May 28 2023:
Large number of protestors of Uripok area stormed the house of Urip-ok MLA Kh Raghumani and damaged some vehicles and a warehouse on Sunday.
Two of the protestors, Thoudam Roshan (38) of Uripok Khaidem Leikai and Salam Philip of Uripok Sorbon Thingel, were also injured and they were rushed to Raj Medicity and RIMS hospital.
Both suffered gunshot wounds on their legs.
The protestors damaged a four wheeler and a two-wheeler vehicle, and torched a warehouse in the incident.
Manipur Fire Ser-vice team rushed to the spot and put off the fire before it spread to nearby houses.
Imphal West district police came to the spot and dispersed the crowd by firing tear gas shells.
Police also picked up the MLA's son, who allegedly fired the shot injuring the two protestors.
In Kakching, irate mob stormed the house of MLA Mayanglambam Rameshwar and damaged five cars and some two-wheeler vehicles, and also pelted stones to the house causing damages.
They also overpowered the security team and snatched some guns.
At the same time, irate mob stormed the house of Wangjing Tentha MLA Pao-nam Brojen.
The mob pelted stones causing damage to the MLA's house.
In Thoubal district, large number of protestors car-ried out a rally and pelted stones at the SP's office.
Later, the protestors were dispersed by the district police.
