Imphal, May 28 2023:
The Coordinating Committee on Manipur Integrity (COCOMI) has said that the people of Manipur will not forgive the Government of India if they are aiding the Kuki militants discreetly.
Speaking to media persons at its office at Uripok today, coordinator of COCOMI Jitendra Ningomba said that the attack on Meetei villages adjacent to hill districts by Kuki militants has ignited another round of agitation in Imphal and other valley districts where situation was otherwise under control.
Saying that frequent attacks by Kuki militants in periphery villages of the valley have aggrieved the indigenous people, he urged the State Government to deploy adequate State forces in the sensitive areas.
These Kuki militants managed to attack Meetei villages continuously even though large companies of Central security forces have been deployed in Manipur, he claimed and asked whether the Government of India is helping the Kuki militants discreetly.
People of Manipur will not forgive the Government of India if they are found giving free hand to the Kuki militants, he added.
