Imphal, May 28 2023:
Kangleipak Kanba Lup (KKL) contended that removal of Kuldiep Singh as security advisor to the government of Manipur and withdrawal of Assam Ri-fles from the state can only bring the restive situation under control.
Addressing media persons at its Paona Keithel office here on Sunday, KKL sec-retary general Luwangcha Ngamkheingakpa said de-spite the fact that Meiteis are peace loving people the Kuki militants armed with sophisticated weapons are burning down their houses and killing civilians.
This is due to failure of the secu-rity system and nepotism by central security forces.
He further stated that since there are enough evidences of Meitei hous-es burnt and destroyed in the presence of the AR and heavily armed Kuki mil-itants roaming freely it is crystal clear that the AR personnel are abetting at-tacks on Meiteis.
The state and the union government should clarify under whose command and control the AR personnel deployed in the state are operating.
He also questioned the existence of government and rule of law in Chu-rachandpur, Kangpokpi, Chandel and Moreh where the Kukis are resorting to all kinds of violence.
The public are in a confused state of mind not knowing who ex-actly runs the government, state advisor Kuldiep Singh or the BJP government, he said.
All the CSOs of the state should be allowed to meet the Union Home minister who will be arriving in the state on Monday, he said adding that the ban on in-ternet should lifted as it has prevented dissemination of authentic information about the crisis in the state to the outside world.
