Imphal, May 28 2023:
Kabui Union Manipur has strongly condemned the attempted arson on a shop at Dimdailong, New Checkon by three personnel of the Rapid Action Force (RAF) on Friday night.
In a release, Kabui Union Manipur has questioned the motive behind the attempted arson by personnel of RAF amid the volatile situation prevailing in the State.
"Was the arson an attempt to incite communal tension between the indigenous communities of Manipur especially the Meetei and Kabui ? Is this a secret policy of the Government of India ?", asserted the Union.
Kabui Union also pointed out that the indigenous communities have been living peacefully & harmoniously in the State for ages and no dirty politics can change this fact.
The Union also questioned whether the Central Security Forces were deployed in the valley areas of Manipur to abet arson and attacks on innocent civilians carried out by armed groups.
Highlighting that the RAF personnel involved in the arson should be terminated from service, Kabui Union appealed to the Government to take necessary steps to prevent such unfortunate incidents in the future.
