Lup demands dismissal of arms transporter IRB men

Imphal, May 28 2023:
In connection with the arrest of three people including a new recruit of 10 IRB identified as Lung-tinsang Chongloi by a com-bined security team from Kangchup foothills on May 23 for transporting arms and explosives, Uripok Apunba Lup demanded authorities concerned for immediate termination of service of the accused IRB man.
In a release, the Lup said involvement of individual in uniform services in the vio-lence mainly perpetrated by Kuki armed militants on the civilians is a serious breach of protocol.
While observing that there might be many others Lunt-ingsang Chongloi who are aiding the Kuki militants, the Lup reiterated the demand for dismissal of Luntingsang as an exemplary punishment so that others do not engage in such unlawful activities.
Meanwhile, condemning the assault on four Tangkhul girls at Kwakeithel on May 24, the Lup maintained that those spearheading the movement should try to prevent recur-rence of such unfortunate incidents while asking those involved in the assault to ten-der public apology.
It also appealed to the Tangkhul community to forgive the unfortunate incident.
