Imphal, May 28 2023:
Kabui Union, Mani-pur (KUM) has asserted that the covert agenda of central security forces to create com-munal divide between Kabuis and Meeteis will not fructify.
In a release, KUM joint secretary K Athoi Kabui men-tioned that three personnel of Rapid Action Force (RAF) of CRPF attempted to set on fire a house of Kammei Loidang Kabui at New Checkon near Sanjenthong around 9:23 pm on May 26.Such dastardly act com-pels one to question whether the government of India has hidden policy to create com-munal clashes between Kabui and Meetei communities at a time when the situation is highly volatile, it said, while stressing that no matter what, the thousands year-old bond of indigenous communities of the state can never be broken by dirty politics.
While asserting that reports published in the state dailies are proofs of Government of India's ill-intent, KUM said the government of India owes an explanation to the people whether the central forces sent into the state are for burning down houses in the valley, and aiding looting and targeting of foothill villages.
KUM further demanded that perpetrators be terminated from service and the inten-tion for their action be made public.
