Candidate alleges harassment by Sekmai MLA Dingo

Khaidem Ranjit, who is the Shiv Sena candidate from Sekmai assembly constituency in the ensuing 12th Manipur Legislative Assembly election, has said that he decided to contest election with the main objective of rectifying wrongs done to the indigenous Scheduled Caste community particularly in education sector.
Addressing media persons at Manipur Press Club here on Friday, Ranjit said the future of Sekmai AC would be grim if people of the constituency fail to elect a good representative in the upcoming election.
He alleged that incumbent MLA and Khurkhul Nupi Apunba Chaokhat Lup harassed him repeatedly and denounced the Lup's decision of levying a fine of Rs 5,000 against anyone who enter his house.
He asked as to why incumbent MLA joined meeting of the Lup, and said that it is an irresponsible decision.
