AR seizes contraband items, aids orphanage

Imphal, February 18 2022:
Troops of Moreh Battalion of IGAR (S) recovered contraband items worth Rs 4 lakh in Moreh town on Wednesday.
In a release, PRO IGAR (S) informed that troops of Assam Rifles observed large number of packages lying unattended near check point in Moreh during border domination patrol.
On thorough search of the packages, Chinese origin spare auto parts were recovered.
The recovered items have been handed over to Custom Preventive Force, Moreh for further legal action, it added.
Meanwhile, Keithelmanbi Battalion of IGAR (South) provided construction stores to EMA Foundation, an orphanage home at Longa Koireng village in Imphal West district on February 15 as part of Assam Rifles' Civic Action Programme.
The construction stores were provided to assist in renovation of education hall of EMA Foundation.
