PM Modi, union ministers line up to visit state

Imphal, February 18 2022:
Prime Minister Narendra Modi is likely to visit the state on February 22 for a few hours to join public rally in connection with the 12th Manipur Legislative Assembly election.
As per a reliable source, PM Modi would arrive along with some Union ministers and take part in a public rally to be held at Luwangsangbam ground.
The source further informed that Union minister for road, transport and highways Nitin Gadkari will also visit the state for the upcoming election and he is likely to arrive on February 21 at 11am and visit Ukhrul, Moreh and Tengnoupal in a helicopter to address election rallies on the same day and leave for New Delhi the same evening.
Union minister for shipping, waterways and AYUSH Sarbananda Sonowal too will be visiting the state on February 20 and attend election rally at Wabagai and hold an interaction with people at Loktak.
He too will return to New Delhi the same evening.
Ahead of PM Modi's visit, a team of Special Protection Group (SPG) arrived at Bir Tikendrajit International Airport on Friday.
Immediately after their arrival, the SPG team took stock of the existing security measures and also began inspecting the roads and the venues where the PM would be attending election campaigns of BJP.
