AR organises Col Robert TA Memorial Football Tournament

Senapati, February 18 2022:
The Lt Col Robert TA Memorial Football Tournament under AR CAP organised by Maram Battalion under the aegis oi Jwalamukhi sector and IGAR East was declared open by the commandant of Maram Battalion on Thursday at Maram before the inaugural match between Kaka Duiking and Mathak Sagei.
16 teams are competing in the tournament.
The final match will played on February 21 and will be attended by P Chingpai Geneveive, wife of late Lt Col Robert TA, and Brig PS Arora, commander Jwalamukhi Sector as guest of honour and chief guest respectively.
Lt Col Robert Kuba, who laid down his life in an avalanche in North Sikkim Sect on May 14, 2020, was the first Anmy Officer from Maram Naga Community.
He joined Indian Army in 2004 through Technical Entry Scheme (TES) and passed out from Indian Military Academy, Dehradun.
The 38-year old officer was an avid sportsman and adiventurist.
The Lt Col Robert TA, Memorial Football Tournament at Maram is reportedly organised to promote sports amongst the community which will benefit the people of the community and raise their morale to a great extent.
Moreover, it will also serve the purpose of building bonhomie with the local populace.
