KPA flays attempt to create havoc

Kuki People's Alliance (KPA) has expressed deep shock and condemned "insolent miscreants, who with malicious and vile intent tried to create havoc" during a peaceful gathering of public organised for its party candidate Chinlunthang at Singhat Public Ground on 16 February.
"Like everyone else present at the public gathering, we are at our wits' end trying to understand why such lowly, despicable and cowardly acts were permitted by the leaders of the other contesting candidate, who professes to espouse Nam interest", KPA said in a release qn Friday.
"We are also appalled at the so-called citizens of democracy and practicing Christians to engage hooligans as volunteers during electioneering.
This is not only an attack on democracy, but also totally contrary to the ideals of Christianity", it further said.
"We vehemently condemn such misbehaviour and expect that in the interest of the people such incident is never instigated again", it added.
KPA then reiterated "our commitment to integrity, development, peaceful coexistence, safety, fairness, harmony and solidarity with fellow-supporters and all well-wishers.
KPA stands for fair and mature election contest fitting in a country, which is the world's largest democracy" .
