3-day residential Leadership Camp begins

A 3-day Residential Youth Leadership and Community Development Camp was inaugurated by Nehru Yuva Kendra (NYK) Sangathan, Bishnupur at Bishnupur District Library Hall near NYK Bishnupur on Monday.
The inaugural function was attended by Bishnupur ADM/ADC H Bobby Sharma as chief guest and State Central Library, Imphal chief librarian RK Urmila Devi as president, while NYK, Bishnupur deputy director Dr Dhana Salam and Green Brigade Foundation, Manipur founder E Premjit Singh were present as guests of honour.
Delivering the keynote speech, Dr Dhana informed that 40 volunteers selected from 10 camps of Nambol, Bishnupur and Moirang Blocks will attend the camp.
The main objective of the camp is to instil leadership quality among the youth, he said.
During the camp, various resource persons will be teaching the young volunteers of their roles and responsibilities in the society, including mechanical type of lifestyle, practising discipline.
Only volunteers who learn the 11 Fundamental Duties given by the Indian Constitution by heart and pledge not to abuse any form of drugs will be awarded with certificates at the end of the camp, he informed.
Later, H Bobby Sharma led the volunteers in reading the Fundamental Duties aloud.
