International Cultural Jamboree held

The first International Cultural Jamboree organised by Bharat Scouts and Guides, National Headquarters New Delhi began on December 21 at Alva's College, Moodubidire, Karnataka.
The International Cultural Jamboree was inaugurated by Governor of Karnataka, Thaawarchand Gehlot.
Speaking on the occasion, Thaawarchand Gehlot stated that only bookish education and physical development are not enough, cultural knowledge is also an integral part of overall development.
Ahmed Alhendawi, secretary-general of World Organization of the Scout Movement said, "The culture Jamboree in India is not just an event, it is an everyday life, and you live it every day because you feel it every day" .
The Jumboree, a mega event for Scouts & Guides in India and around the world held every four years will continue till December 27,
2022 .
Delegates from different States of India and overseas like Malaysia, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Bangladesh, Maldives, Philippines, Mexico, South Korea, England, Jordan etc are taking part in the event.
Manipur State Contingent under the leadership of Okram Dilipkumar Meitei, State Organizing Commissioner of Scout, 6 Unit Leaders and 15 Scouts and Guides are participating in the ICJ.
The Scouts and Guides from Mount Carmel Academy, Senapati Unit, Malem Maheikol, Laphupat Tera, Imphal West, Kongpal Unit, Imphal East and State officials of State Headquarter represented the contingent of Manipur.
