Modi Gospel Olympic Games kicks off

Under the initiative of Modi Cultural and Sporting Club and in collaboration with NYK, Chandel, the Modi Baptist Church-sponsored first Modi Gospel Olympic Games, 2022 kicked off on Monday at Modi village playground.
Speaking at the inaugural function of the Games, which will continue till December 30, Modi Baptist Church pastor Bebe Jackson explained that spiritual health is important as much as physical health.
"Therefore, the Modi Baptist Church has sponsored this Olympic Games so that youth of the villages are directed towards God and are spiritually healthy besides being physically fit".
He continued that the games are being held to guide the youth of the villages and protect them from the menaces of the world including drugs and alcohol.
The Pastor also informed that devotions in the morning and gospel services in the evening would be conducted to nurture the spiritual growth of the youth in particular and Modi villagers as a whole.
The function was also attended by Modi village chief KI John Mota and Modi Cultural and Sporting Club (MSC) president Ps Raylee Anal among others.
Divided into four teams namely Yellow - King's Way; White -Living Water, Red - Adventurer and Blue - Teens of the Lord, they will compete in a series of events such as football, volleyball, shot put, long jump, javelin throw, high jump, etc., for both boys and girls.
Earlier during the day, Sr Cember of Blue and Rt Suzanna of White won the marathon race in the boys' and girls' category respectively.
