Imphal, December 26 2022:
Refuting the allegation of IMC mayor and corporators allocating shops of Lamphel Super Market through corrupt means as raised by some groups, former IMC mayor L Lokeshwar expressed his belief that allotment of shops will be finalised after settlement of the pending court case.
Interacting with the media on Monday, Lokeshwar said that Lamphel Super Market Shops and Vendors' Welfare Association is a body of shop owners in the market area.
The association filed a case in the court after construction of the new shops was completed.
Consequently, the court served its judgment on December 23, 2020 to allot plots to the members of the association.
However, the allotment was cancelled by a common order on June 2, 2022 following evidences of some irregularities in the allotment process.
As such, some cases are still pending in the court and allotment will take place only after the court cases are settled, he said.
